Who run's their AC full blast? In reality? The only time I have ever done that is when it is 110 degrees outside...
O have not only seen people turn they A/C full blast, however they also had they window down. Yeah, tell me about it, totally weird.

Rather than try to password protect the drive, how about creating some encrypted DMG's or TrueCrypt containers on the drive.
+1 - Truecrypt is my favorite here. I have several document containers. If you want to go the password-router way though, what kind of router is it? You should be able to set it up as a protected 'share.'

The "In Time-Out" title was never intended to be a warning to other users.
It works as a great warning though. At least I've noticed where the line goes (of course every mod may have a different policy on this but generally) when you get timed-out by following some heated arguments.
I don't see the gossips as an issue. If someone asks, you can provide him the link to Forum Rules and tell that it's very likely that the guy who got timed-out broke the rules.

I'm not able to find a definitive source on this is it true that the Apple Standard Keyboard M0116, as offered as an alternative to the Apple Extended Keyboard circa 1990, uses the same keyswitches, providing exactly the same tactile feedback?
I'm a Model M fan myself, but can't justify the noise in my open plan office. I have an M0116 which I very much like and will use if I can obtain an ADB to USB adapter that works on modern Macs (so, I guess, makes the keyboard look like a USB device rather than adding an ADB port to the computer) but have never tried an Extended Keyboard and am wondering if it's worth seeking one out.

I will consider trading... but I need to see pics/the condition of the iPhone.
Sounds like you need to read the thread again.

Isn't the eMate smaller in size than a Macbook? I doubt the screen would fit.
its possible to cut out more screen real estate to make something bigger fit...

I have to buy a new tripod too as the old one, which was ok for my old camera won't support the weight of the new one. It's almost exactly the same weight as the 7D. You didn't mention how much you want to spend, but I have two friends who both have the Manfrotto 190Cx Carbon Fibre Q90 (http://www.manfrotto.com/product/8374.58969.82552.0.0/190CXPRO4/_/190Cx_Carbon_Fibre_Q90_4-section_Tripod) with the 4-section legs for travel, which is the one I'm considering. They've been very happy with them. There is a 3-section leg model as well. The centre column has a quick lift and folds over sideways, great for macros etc. I don't know what head I'm going to get yet.

you know of any ways I could?
What kind of iphone in question is slow?
My guess would be an iphone 3G correct?
Usually a restore and setup as new will fix most lag but if you're on a 3G and higher than 3.1.3 it will drag either way.
I would suggest to update to a 3GS or iphone 4. You wont be able to make it go any faster cause the hardware is not there to handle the latest iOS well.

I think we can all agree that a laptop that is marketed as a professional system needs 64MB of VRAM on a Radeon card. I am still furious with Apple over the fact that they stuck a weak 8MB Rage 128 Mobility in my TiBook, at the time other companies were offering 16 and 32MB cards. That is one of the only disappointments I have now with my TiBook.

"I don't want this to turn into a mudslinging contest."

If you did not want a mudslinging contest, you would not have slung mud.

I am not a "hopeful 'visual artist'." Currently, visual art is my primary income pipeline. As my resume states, I am the Director of Promotion and Marketing for a large consulting firm in Silicon Valley -- not a position reached by being "hopeful".
However, after Berkeley, architecture will obviously grossly supersede it as an income source.
My "quotations" were an approximation of the intention contained in your original message. To say otherwise is only a self-congratulating delusion.
In my life I have never rammed anything down anyone's throat.
The world would be full of pity if you turned out older than me. Let's hope that isn't the case.
--C.S.
P.S., Nothing you said was potent enough to "destroy" any "system". (And you're trying to say I'M riding a "little cloud"?)

Some folks are optimistic that Apple will eventually support USB 3.0, but I am not one of them. When Steve said it wasn't taking off, I think that was a euphemism for saying that USB 3.0 will not be taking off in Apple products. Back when he said that, they and Intel were working on Light Peak, now called Thunderbolt. Now that the new MacBook Pros have Thunderbolt and the expectation that the new iMac's later this year will have Thunderbolt, I do not see any reason why Apple would add USB 3.0.

dukestreet:
You are being incredably unrealistic with talk of 16 Power4-lites.
A *single* current Power4 probably costs more than any single Mac product and generates more heat than even Apple's new mega heatsink could be expected to deal with. 16 would be in a case with wheels and a 6-figure price tag.
The whole idea of the Power4-lite is to do away with all the fancy many-many-chip features to make it cheaper.
TyleRomeo:
Interesting to note that Apple said "4-6 weeks" the day the 1.25 was announed, and this is 2 or 3 weeks later. Hmmm, still 4-6 weeks. I originally thought about getting one, but I have since given up and will wait till the next revision which may very well include a Power4-lite option, but we won't have much idea about that until October 15th.

In my life, I hope for the best and prepare for the worst. It has been my experience that a positive outlook on life is a pretty good determinant of one's success. Whether or not that extrapolates, I can't say for sure, but the hope for a better tomorrow is what gets me out of bed in the morning.
