I somehow doubt its true, but its a nice story.
When Ive returned a product, they have never asked for my name or address, and if I didnt give them my email address, there is no way they could contact me.

There are still more than 500 Radio Shack's left? Can't believe they're not out of business yet lol!
I've been asking that question for years. I have NO idea how they're pulling it off. They're not growing, in fact they're shrinking. I remember when they actually sold TVs and receivers and all sorts of stuff. Now, yeah, I go there for the odd connector or cable or electrical tools...or on occasion, specialty batteries like CMOS batteries. That's it and only then because Frys is too far away for such a small purchase.
Them selling iPad 2 makes me wonder who approached whom. Was Radio Shack desperate to carry it or is Apple trying to offload the management from its own stores?
So Walmart is full of obese hillbillies?

Just sayin. Feature Creature dude.

Integrate motion sensors! With a flick of the wrist, the page will turn. Hot Damn!
Heh, and just like a real book, if there's a sudden draft, all the pages will flick past and you'll lose you place.
Considering that one of the first uses for most new technologies (such as the "book" and "moving pictures") has traditionally been porn, why not have an emergency "boss" or "wife" button to flick to a boring business report or something else preconfigured. Of course that might only work if they don't know of the feature themselves. iPorn. Gotta Love It.

Apple could probably produce a 500gb classic without much of a price difference. Anybody tried upgrading one or putting an HD in a touch?
I doubt it if 220GB HDD is the biggest this small HDD available currently

Seems cheap to me. I'll be there to get my copy day one. I think it's going to be a leap over XP.

The wizards at Apple can't even make a mobile device that will run that load of crap. I hope that crap-ware never makes it into any IOS based products.
Should read:The wizards at Apple WON'T make a mobile device that will run that load of crap. Continue.

So, the way it is now, you buy Photoshop for around $650 and after 18 months you can upgrade for $190. Total: $840 for 36 months, plus you still have your software to use for as long as you want if you choose not to upgrade anymore...
So, $35 x 36 months = $1260 and after the 36 months finnish, you have nothing...
I don't see a big advantage here, unless you only use photoshop in a few projects a year... I don't know anyone who does that, tho...
The big advantage here isn't for you. ;)

The ios iPod app is an abomination. Even with my moderately sized(about 3000 songs, most are just vocab flash cards) the thing chokes on my 3gs and even a bit on 1g iPad. It takes seconds, yes SECONDS to respond to input, not to mention all the crashing. Even if they could make a 128gb iPod touch, I would shudder to think at how insanely slow the iPod app would be if you loaded that puppy up with music.
In my case it's adding ONE podcast to listen too before bed, then waiting forever as it sits there "updating" the library. I can sync and start to listen to it in the same time on my classic.

I have no problem with an individual wanting to help out someone who needs help. I DO have a problem with wanting your neighbor's son/daughter to do it FOR you, just because you feel it is the right thing to do. If you really, truly thought it was worth it, we should be reading about you on the news (http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/06/15/american-hunting-osama-bin-laden-gun-detained-northern-pakistan/).
Otherwise, you are just another guy with some political leanings that has no problem sending our troops this way and that.

I assume you support our country helping the people of Japan and yet you have not joined a group of rescuers going over seas to rescue them.
I assume you support the efforts of law enforcement to protect yourself and others from murders, thieves, etc. and yet you are not a police person.
I assume you are in favor of firemen who will keep your house from burning down if it ever catches fire. And yet you are not a fire man.
I am a citizen of this country I, pay taxes which pays for firemen, the police, drug research etc. etc.
These are all things that I believe in an yet I am not directly a part of them. Just because I believe in the current actions my country is undertaking in Libya does not mean that I must join the military to show my belief in the rightness of this operation.

Think of the Nexus One, the first Google branded phone. Less than a year old and can be considered ancient and outdated. Did it get any Android updates? I don't know, but it's highly unlikely that it will get Android 2.3 (if it even has 2.2)...
The Nexus One got 2.3. (I'm running it right now.) It was one of the first to get 2.2. Mind you, the 2.3 release came MONTHS after it was projected to and I have to admit my phone is now approximately as stable as Windows 98. I'm almost considering going back to 2.2 or trying a custom ROM because 2.3 in terms of stability is a crime against technology.

I once considered the 20" model but found its screen a bit small for movie or TV viewing.
Now the 24" model is good enough. But will it ever have a built-in TV tuner?

Given that Clear Channel banned 4 Beatles songs in the wake of 9/11, the billboard prognostication by R0bert was slightly amusing.

What did they ban and why?

There seem to be varying reports of the serial numbers affected, and Apple's site seems dead right now. I'm hoping my battery IS affected, because I was getting close to ordering a new battery, as my year-and three month old battery is down to 25% of it's original capacity after 440 load cycles.
The site was up briefly and claimed 4-6 weeks for the new battery to ship. That's a LONG time to go without a battery.
don't worry 'bout that. they will send you a new one and then you return the battery - at least they did it this way with my battery..

The iPod touch is quite thin already.. moving some parts around and adding a hard drive in it could make it about as thick as the iPhone but with the capacity of a Mac.. just think of the possibilities..
Reminds me about the Palm LifeDrive.. it's about time a modern device takes it over.
As a couple stated on this page and I brought up several pages ago, a HDD based touch is something you won't see, based on the HDs latency and speed issues.

I can't play more than 1 song before it crashes. I went ahead and appzapped the friggin program and started with a totally fresh install and I'm having the same problem. It plays 1 song and then crashes.
Another thing I noticed is that it misreports song length by a few seconds. It's reporting them too short. It plays out until the end and then backs up a second or two, then crashes.
Anyone else?

And yet again, people are falling for the MP myth.
Let's see the quality of these photos and video, then we'll talk.
Hehe. You are the one falling for the myth about MP myth. DXOMark has a lengthy article that explains why more megapixels is NOT a bad thing. It does NOT negatively influence low light capabilities, contrary to popular belief.

You guys are missing a huge point. A couple actually. There not going to take away the high storage and only leave people with a 64GB option, because people would buy the 120GB Zune. Have you ever though that they are going to release a huge 10 year anaversery or something? Also, so what? It's been 2 years since an upgrade. Why freak out? It's a classic, it doesn't need to do anything more. Also, the Zune HD and other Zunes haven't been updated in over 3 years,,, many products just don't need them right now.
