You really don't need LTE until Uncle Steve decides you do.

This is why Android phones are creeping up on iOS...they are offering more features and constant innovation in the hardware. iPhone users (and I used to be one) only enjoy hardware innovation once a year.

Maybe we will see an LTE iPhone in 2012, maybe not but I can say with all the certainty in the world that Android will have kick ass dual core LTE phones with large screens and probably something retina like in resolution by then. I wouldn't be surprised to see 12 MP cameras, 2-3 MP front cameras all running Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

How could he move her when he probably broke his back during sex?

Creative positioning + bed with a good bit of "give", e.g. Memory Foam = enjoyment without that "crushing" feeling. This has served me well, and that's the best way I can explain it without going into TMI territory.

The show hasn't been officially cancelled. Before today, they shut down production for the last 8 episodes for this season. Today, they fired Sheen and said they are unsure if the show will go on. Knowing Hollywood, they'll go on with a replacement. Oddly, Sheen replaced Michael J. Fox on his show when Fox quit and it went on for another 2 or 3 seasons. They can hire Ted McGinley.

Not for what I'm doing. Pages strikes me as something for newsletters, not writing well-researched articles and novels.

    Not true

I used Pages to do a college term paper which was over 40 pages long. My lecturer commented it was the best presented he had seen for years.

Perhaps the issue people are having with Pages is that it looks too easy compared to Word and that confuses them. You really do need to use Pages as a Word replacement to appreciate how good is actually is.

    iWork '07 will be great.

I wonder why they've moved it to a later date?

Because that customer's service has been suspended due to non-pay. Trust me a customer care rep does not get this info... They are going off of what they hear in the media. Let's say the phone is coming out in the fall, Apple and all other companies have to wait for official announcement to give out info. That was some reps personal opinion...

I noticed it right away mate, and I thought I was being a little pernickety until I noticed more people cropping up in threads here and especially on the Apple discussion forums.

If Apple had added features to iOS 4 over the 4.1-4.3 updates which would explain degraded performance, then fair enough, but Home Sharing and Personal Hotspot are the biggest new feature in the iOS 4 updates, and I don't honestly don't think for one second anyone is stupid enough to believe either impact the way the iPhone UI animates.

Anyway, I've restored to 4.3.2 via iTunes and while the stock apps run perfectly, the real test is when the device has a load on it, so I'm going to install some third party apps and see how things go.

Here's an advance hint ... it'll be the exact same as 4.3.2.

Good I'm not alone mate, I notice while the device is hooked to AC power you generally get better performance although games still result in 'pops'.

It seems to develop a few hours after you've setup apps. etc how you like, but just after a restore you'd forgive them for fixing it.

It's that fit and finish that I hate my device loosing for no good reason. They did add a new animation element when opening and closing apps in that the background now fades black, I'm guessing it's that addition that's causing these problems.

After the Month of Kernel Bugs, are you concerned about Mac OS X security?

    No - 62%

See, that bugs me. Everyone should be concerned about security. I believe OS X's overriding security feature is obscurity, and once that situation changes I can see the OS falling over very quickly.

One of the weakest links in the chain is the user, and if the user is not concerned then you have a problem.

Dont get me wrong, I think OS X is great, but it just hasn't been "weathered" in the wild like Windows has. If OS X becomes a viable target then we're in for a bumpy ride.

OSX is based on FreeBSD, which has been around for an eternity and includes modules from even older Unixy stuff. There's paying attention, there's worrying, and then there's running around with your hair on fire digging for a bomb shelter with your bare hands. We're at the pay attention stage.
MOKB showed that the kernel can be a source of bugs and that OS design should incorporate this problem into the design. This doesn't mean panic or worry or take a pair of scissors to your broad-band connection, this means Apple has some things to fix. It also showed that wireless is inherently insecure and the problems with drivers can affect Windows, Mac OSX and Linux.
Again, MOKB isn't all that important, it's Apple's response to problems that really matters.

Apple will be stupid, make their TV the same shape as the others and be sued by everyone.

Funny how it is. Apple is ultra successful, makes tons of money, and still cowers out of fear.

The fanboys feel sorry for them, and make excuses.

What a bizarre environment the little man lives in.

That dewing would mean the phone be top heavy and be more pruned to falling the hand.

When holding our phones, a lot of times, the top half hangs over. With thinner bottom, we could easily drop.

    That's my opinion.

An apple branded tv? Perfect area for apples MO. Tvs are yearly updated, usually an incremental upgrade, good ones cost a arm and a leg, always using great adjectives to make a product standout.

Yep sound like apple would fit riiiiiight in :D

Do you want to buy 4 iMac 27''? Really nice , but why??

And also, a couple of Time Capsules? What are you planning to do with a computer?

I imagine he's kitting out a lab / office. No matter how nice the machines are, 4 of them is a bit much for a personal user ;-)

Using Apple.com prices for comparison, current Mighty Mouse is $49 and Bluetooth Mouse is $59.

I would like to see the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse at $59 or even better a Bluetooth Keyboard and Mighty Mouse Combo for $99.

Ditto - if the mouse is 70 dollars, there's no way I'll pay for it (I'm still surprised I forked over the 50 dollars for the last Mighty Mouse...)

My guess? They lower the price of the wired Mighty Mouse a bit, discontinue the other bluetooth mouse, and replace it with a bluetooth Mighty Mouse for 50-60 dollars. My hope? They offer a bundle, with both the wireless keyboard + mouse for 99 dollars or less.

You'll get no argument from me here. Been using the MX-1000 since my PC days and love it to death. My trackpad sees the use isntead of a MM, but same feelings :)

But I can see Steve Jobs announcing the improved bluetooth MM:

It's WWDC and he's in the middle of his stevenote. he 'accidentally hits something' and messes something or other up. He acts angry and yanks the MM away from its cord.
The cord just pops off and he pulls it out of hte USB port.

Then he keeps on using it as if nothing happened.

"oh, and we have the new bluetooth mighty mouse available now!

    that's at least 3 MX-1000 users we have that are well-satisfied :-)

You both need to calm down. One of you wants flash, the other could do without. We get it.

And by the way Apple is under no obligation to offer you Flash or anything else for that matter, you knew before your purchase that Safari would never support Flash, consider yourself fortunate that Skyfire exists.

Thanks for the calm message. I just get upset when someone calls the CEO of a company a communist simply because the product lacks some feature they think they want. Those nonsense claims have no business on these forums.

On topic, I wonder if the ipad app will be any different? Perhaps they can embed the video in the website so it takes the place of the original flash content?

Good question. They are a well-financed company with products on a variety of handheld devices. Maybe they're reading these comments to see what people are saying; maybe not. If you have suggestions, I'd go on their website and tell them what you'd like.

Your question made me think of one interesting business possibility: maybe Skyfire will begin to offer consulting services to website owners to ease the conversion from of their media inventory from legacy Flash to HTML5 video.

smug free screen? Apple will never eliminate smugness in its products! :)

happy former owner of a 27" i7 imac that was stolen last month. Looking forward to replacing it with this new one.

I saw and got my hands on a possible prototype IMac that had a touchable screen and a smug free screen. It also had the earlier uncoded virtual keyboard in the Lion OS. though it was only a prototype but a very realistic one for production. I believe it to be the IMac I and my father both got our hands on earlier this year.:apple:
