Ever owned a 12" powerbook? I have two.
There's a reason a lot of 12" powerbook owners rave on about them. The form factor is very neat. It sure isn't about how powerful they are :).
Too right. My Rev. A will have to be completely dead before I replace it with a 13" MacBook. The only way I'll buy another laptop before then is if Apple come out with a 12" MBP.
Not slagging off the MacBooks by saying that. I just love my PB12". Best laptop ever IMO.

they buy foxconn and unmarked ASUS boards. ASUS leads in motherboard sells for a reason.
Again, citation needed. Apple doesn't even use ATX or mATX boards, all their logic boards are custom shaped and they are designed by Apple and manufactured by Foxconn.

Can you add movies to your library that are already on your HD?
I choose file > add to library and selected a bunch of AVI files and it just did nothing.
I was just able to do that. I grabbed an old Quicktime video from an apple keynote done in 1998.
I NOW understand what that dialog box is for that I posted earlier. You can now encode any video iTunes will accept, for your ipod, within iTunes.
You no longer need Quicktime Pro, iMovie, or 3rd party applications to do so!
Rock on!!!

Never had a classic myself, but I think for some people it works and depending on sales apple will decide if it is worth it or not to continue selling it.

perhaps the new ultra-portable will not need a power cord.
I remember a patent application from a while back . . .
True, I remember that. More reasons to hope for my new slim Macbook! yay!

So how many people here have actually gone up to a girl youve never met and asked if she wants to share your sweaty earbuds? My guess is nobody, because its creepy as hell, its like holding hands with someone you just met. It was just a PR response to a competitors product, I doubt jobs was being serious thinking people with ipods actually do stuff like that on a regular basis.
The Zune isnt really a way to pick up chicks either, I think it was more designed for friends to share music. Even having the debate is pretty pointless, its all marketting mumbo jumbo. Plus last time I checked you can share headphones with a Zune too.
That's almost exactly his point, why would you need to send music to someone when you could just share headphones? MS is jusking asking for virus problems here.

That's not a poster, it's a big iPhone. They've got one in every store window. Different images scroll from bottom to top. Obviously this photo is in mid scroll.
BTW - All the iphones in iPhone commercials are very different than my iPhone. They show a small little photo of the person calling instead of a big full screen photo. Don't know why. It's the same in this ad.
If you take a pic with your iPhone and use it in your contacts, it will appear full screen.
If you assign a photo in your address book on the desktop, it will appear a small photo.

The iPad, no matter how parasitic it is, is still a real computer.
And wow at all the people "finding problems" with OTA updates. Android has been at it for years on many carriers and with many different data caps in place, rooted phones, phones with custom ROMs, etc.. and yet none of those guys whine about OTA updates. The Apple crowd really needs to get with it. It's optional people, it is for Android, no reason it wouldn't be for iPhone.
Options are good.
How can it be a real computer and you cant even turn it on without syncing it to a real computer? So basically to buy an ipad you have to own another $500 piece of hardware to use an ipad. I love my ipad and it has basically replaced my laptops, but its a shame that you cant manage your music, sync your apps or update your OS without being connected to a real computer.

not really. If I like Pink Floyd, I like Pink Floyd...not the Beatles.
Saying I like Apples doesn't = I like oranges...though both are fruit.
I get the point of what txa1265 was saying.. lots of these bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zep were either influenced or used the rock beats that the Beatles created/expanded upon.
A better group comparison would be Black Sabbath, who were totally inspired by the Beatles. Simply playing both bands' songs side by side isn't how to compare, but more on a deeper musical level. The underlying parts.
Given all that, I know many people that don't like the Beatles but like other bands that may/may not have been directly influenced by them.

I fully agree with the concept of a fair playing field. Maybe the middle ground is going to be found in the cloud, but I doubt it.
Except the cloud might be manipulated by subscription, terms of use, and other policies that do far more to benefit the cloud service (SaaS) provider. Especially regarding copyrights... in return, the cloud has one relying more on the security and storage of the cloud vendor. Since cloud vendors are only interested in the money, they're not going to take the same level of care or precautions we otherwise would.

This would indeed be awesome for people like me who quite like the 3D stuff and don't get headaches with it.
But if they were to do it they'd have to make sure EVERYTHING that was in 3D was also in 2D so people who can't see 3D/don't like it don't have to use it.
I'd have though iPad 3 would have been a bit soon though?
Maybe iPad 4?

Last I checked this kind of anti-competitive action was illegal under monopoly laws...
you might be right...wasn't MS hit with something similar? It's not fair for a distributor to threaten the product producer (OMG..that is bad english, but you know what i mean).
i actually think it's funny b/c the studios don't like to be told what to do by anyone. if using Apple helps distribute their products, i highly doubt they'll listen to wal-mart or anyone for that matter.
it would be interesting to know whether or not WM has specific distribution deals with studios which has language indicating the studios can't distribute.
in the end, it just looks pathetically whiny by WM to cry about this. "OH..we can't sell online so nobody else is allowed...that's not fair." blah blah boo hoo.
losers.
cheers,
Keebler

You can already get a MB with more RAM and larger HDD so what would be the point of that? A 13 inch MBP would make more sense.
Because you can't get a MacBook with a core 2 duo. Doh!
That's the whole point (of the thread actually)

iTunes puts Music Videos in with music. You can change that, select your file, hit command I and select the video tab. If you want it to show up under Movies or TV, just change it in the menu that appears.
Thank you for the clarification, however when I do command-i and choose "Video", the pull-down menu is greyed out. I tried this with several videos, and it's the same: I am unable to change video type on my music videos downloaded from the iTunes Store (American Idiot, etc.). They were all downloaded well before today's updates, so I don't know if that's the problem or not (maybe ones bought afterwards will not cause this problem?)
Are other people experiencing the same problem?
